it's looking more westy, northy westy.
So, Box may be the place.

I'm leaning toward going somewhere, but it's not clear that I'll feel well enough to fly. I'm still recovering from whatever bronchial nastiness I brought home from France last week. In any case, I'm hoping I'll be in good enough shape to drive. I'll leave it to you all to decide whether you want to risk catching whatever I'm finishing off.
Andy, Mic, Lew, and Guido are also interested. We have a posse!
So, Mustang, Box, or South Mountain?

I'd like to go fly someplace.

Morey,
I don't see the northy winds in the forcast. I see south and west. Where do you see north winds?

I'd like to go XC if I remember how, so I'm looking for a driver.

Anybody up for trying the Stones?

Andy

I've finally got a weekend when I am not house hunting up north. I'd like to fly tomorrow, but at the moment it's looking a bit strong - if only there were an easy way to get the hang glider up Mustang. In any case, I'll check the forecast in the AM.

i got the northywesty direction from
http://www-frd.fsl.noaa.gov/mab/soundings/java/

but it will change 6 times between now and then.
I'm not going to think about it too much between now and noon tomorrow.

as of 8am, the direction is looking perfect, but now in the late afternoon, the velocity gets a bit strong. looks fine for speedwings.

going for a bike ride, will be back in a few hours to re-check

Andy and I are currently planning to meet at Houghton and I-10 at 11:00 a.m. so that we can head out to the Whetstones. I will be ground support for that part of the adventure. Eventually, we plan to end up at the Mustangs, on launch around 3:00 p.m.
Anyone else want to have a look at the Whetstones? Meet us at 11:00 at Houghton and I-10. Otherwise, we hope to see you all at the Mustangs.
Of course, all this is subject to change based on the forecasts tomorrow morning.

Ted and I are going to BOX today, Saturday, April 3. Mustang's wind prediction looked a bit too strong.

Mustang was strong! Lots of booming thermals, big cycles coming into launch. I hiked down with chris and chandler.

Oh, and watch for illegal immagrants. A dead body of an illegal was found recently near the parking area at mustang.

Mic, Guido, and I all made two flights at South Mountain, while Andy carried the day with one very long and impressive flight. Becky drove for us, making it an exceptionally nice day.
