The Elgin surface forecast looks good for an evening glassoff at Mustang on Wednesday, May 4. Is anyone else interested? I will check the weather forecast again on Wednesday before leaving home.

Hey, welcome back Lew.

If the weather looks good on Wednesday, count me in.

I'd like to join you, Lew. My glider is back from Rising Air and in good shape. I also have the day off!

I am going to Mustang today (Wednesday, May 4). The forecasts look a bit marginal - it might be blown out - but today looks better than the next few days. Box is probably still closed down by the fires and one can't be too picky in May. I plan to be at the LZ around 2:30 PM.

I had a good ~50 minute evening flight at Mustang yesterday. The winds were at the upper limit of my ability to take off, about 12-15 mph. It was rather laminar though, and I was confident that I could manage with my speed bar. I got plucked in the high winds, but I was ready for it and immediately on the speed bar. I managed to get out into the lift band, and stayed on the bar for most of the flight. I think I made ~800-1000 feet over launch at one point.

I landed and didn't have time to wait around for Lew and Soren, but it looked like they had decent glass-off flights as well.

The Mustang glassoff worked again as it usual! It was pretty windy as predicted - about 15 WSW on launch and 18 to 20 SW in the air. Aaron launched first sometime after 6 PM. Soren launched around 6:45. On my third, try I got airborne a bit before 7 PM. The wind aloft was very smooth, but strong. Soren used his speed trimmers for his entire flight. I used my speed bar each time I flew back from visiting Biscuit. Soren and I landed at the end of Civil Twilight (1/2 hour after sunset). Yes, that's legal. And yes, the landings were very Hot.
