The forecast is really unsettled, but there is a chance Mustang could be flyable tomorrow. It is probably worth checking the forecast Saturday morning if anyone is interested.

As of 9:00, the wind forecast is looking ok for Mustang. It may be getting stronger toward the end of the afternoon, so early rather than late could be better. The cloud cover is a problem, but it still could be a nice day for a hike. I'm going to ride the bike and check again in about an hour.

Hey how did you guys do at the mustangs?

Me and eric went over to box and left a car in the lz and drove up to launch dreaming of a good soaring flights! Unfortunantly it was just wishful thinking. We were getting good launch cycles so me and eric set up our falcons side by side and relized they were idenicle twins! Eric wired me off for my first flight at box. I launched went to the south bowl and encountered sink the whole way to the LZ and barley cleared the wash, and had a great landing. But what else would expect from a falcon? Eric waited for a little bit thinking conditions would improve but it wasnt ment to be. Eric tore down and drove back down. ( I think thats the first time i have ever seen eric set up his glider and not fly it) But hey thanks again Eric for taking the whole to help me get five Glorious minutes. I couldnt have made till next saturday without that fix... Ok im a hangliding junky i admit it.

We did similarly as you. The wind was nothing like what was forecasted. Not even close. Fred got off in mid-afternoon light thermals, soared a bit, but as soon as the thermal ended, it started blowing light cross from the south, which was the prevailing direction. Ed, Guido and I waited around for things to get better, but they never did. Before we knew it, the wind had shifted due East and was blowing down. So, we hiked down.

But, we got in some nice hiking on a beautiful day.

Looks like you've got one good eye Eric.
It's one of his dogs, either Jammer or Wrangler. Hard to tell as they're both Golden Retrievers, and if you call either name, they both react.

Or, it could be a mountain lion?
