Very cool.
We're all hoping you'll be joining us in the air again soon.

Sweet.
I think the last time I flew Yosemite it was 1993. Wow- that's a long time ago. Thanks for the memories.

So - did you fly with two big VHS Camcorders on your wing?

Nice footage!
That does bring back some memories! I last flew there in 1977! with a home built Hang glider!
I sure don`t remember the flight being that long! dual shot angles made it real nice.

home-built hang glider?!??! Was the flight not that long because you rode your reserve down? ;)

Wow, Scott, I didn't know you flew bones back in the day. And I didn't know you were a Satriani fan, LOL.

Many local piolts built their own wings back in the Day, Mark Sawyer, Dale Trombo, Bill Hamilton, Tony Allergro and I all built our own gliders . We flew them with no chute deployments, for a short time with no chutes come to think about it! Many of our home builts were copies of other manufactures gliders and some were our own designs.

Back to Yosemite, can you PG there?

No. No Paragliding at Yosemite.
The launch would be pretty difficult.

They will charge you with aerial delivery if caught pg off it. Its pretty steep fine, jail time and you gear is confiscated forever.

Yeah- but wouldn't it be worth it to run off half dome?

I made two flights on two consecutive days in the mid 90s. I mounted an analog 8mm video camera on the keel of a SuperSport for the first flight and on the cross arm of a SkyHawk for the second flight. My buddy Evan was supposed to fly with me, but he busted up a knee hot dogging on a mountain bike the day before the trip, so he wound up driving for me.

I thought that video seemed like 2 separate flights, especially the approach. Nice vid though. Too bad Satriani had to do your soundtrack

Great video.

My first and only time in Yosemite was in 1983 I believe. I took my Seagull 10 meter up to the same take off as that video I believe but the park ranger said I was not allowed to fly. He said you need to have a hang 4 and only fly before about 7:30 am as I recall. The reason you weren't allowed to fly after 7:30 a.m. was because it tended to stop traffic as people would literally stop and gaze and photograph the HGs....or something like that.
So I didn't get to fly there.
