Flew Mt Lemon on the first.
Unique flying day. Mark Axen drove for me, he flew it in the 1980`s when we started flying there.
We arrived at launch around 1. The hawks were soaring the launch area an landing in the tree tops, doing touch an go like approaches in the tree tops. I launched ,soared the top of the mt. for a few cycles before getting up. Headed out over the western edge of the wilderness of rocks an across Romero Canyon at 11K. Light SW wind aloft, so I cut to the south face. (In more NW conditions I would have gone west to Pusch Ridge)Worked some light smooth lift back up to the launch alt. landed SE of the 49`s in the wash ,flew for 1.5 hours. Nice smooth glass off like conditions over the valley. Mark drove down, an picked me up. The 49`s run has proved to be a convient way to get some sweet AT over a great mt site !!
( flight # 71 from Mt Lemon for me!!)
Met the new compound care taker, Dave. All an all another fun day !
