Box Monday

Box might work well on Monday for a late afternoon/evening glass-off. Anyone up for an easy hike up to the top? Unless we can find a driver and a 4X4 to drop us off on the back side.

What time and where are you thinking of meeting up? I have yet to fly box but would like to give some glass-offs a try.

We should be ready to take off around 4 PM so going backwards, should be in the LZ by 1 - 1:30 PM and leave Tucson at about noon. Let's see how many people are interested first and then we'll figure out a meeting location.

I might be interested, and I have an appropriate vehicle for getting around the back side. I can assure you I will not be hiking to the top from the bottom.

We might be able to lure Gunter out to drive for us. I'll have a look at the weather tomorrow and make a decision about my involvement.

Box delivered last evening. We drove to the back and hiked to the top. I launched at 4:00 PM and flew for 1h 35m. The wind on launch was about 12-14 mph when I launched but increased to 16 by the time everybody was in the air. Congratulations to Jessie for his first "real" flight. Jacob and Aaron shared the air with us and had great flights too. Beautiful sunset flight with lift pretty much everywhere, a little cold, if anything, my hands were freezing on the handles.

Our driver, Kimberley had a little adventure getting to the LZ ;-) It took her about 3 hours to find us. But we are safe and sound ;-) Now she is trained.
