A Dream Come True

I've been itching to fly over Mt Whrightson for a while. It happened yesterday. I'm psyched.
Box looked really good yesterday. Winds were predicted at 10-13 mph out of the north. Top of lift at 12,000 ft.
John V. and I met at 11:30 and were on the lower launch at 1:30. Wind was a little strong, averaging 12 mph with gusts to 15. Each of us waited for light cycles (8 mph or so) to launch. John launched first and got a few thermals but the air was a little bumpy and he decided to land early.
I benched up relatively easy but struggled a bit to get to cloud base. It took me almost 45 minutes to get to just shy of 12,000 ft.
I went in a straight line to Mt Whrightson and then cruised around in the Madeira Canyon fish bowl and then crossed to Mt. Hopkins. It looked like a really good day to try to cross over towards the Mustangs. I decided not to push it as I launched quite late and was cold and too thrilled by my flight so far. Turned around towards Box and landed on a dirt road with many names off of Box Canyon Rd.
Overall 2h with highest point 11,800 ft.
Thanks John V. for the maze chase.
