National Get Outdoors Day, Saturday, June 13

Post by John Wolfe » Sat Jun 06, 2015 10:05 am

The US Forest Service is sponsoring the annual Get Outdoors Day at Parker Canyon Lake on Saturday, June 13th. Eric Smith is organizing the club's presence at this event which provides us an opportunity to explain our sport to hundreds of people as they wander by our booth.
Please contact Eric for details if you can join him for a day on the edge of a beautiful lake promoting free flight. The poster for the event is below, and you'll notice that our presence last year was a big hit.

Count me in, it's always nice to spend the day by the lake. Try to wear your Sahga shirts.

SAHGA member's,
We need volunteers for this event.
As you can see from the Forest Service flyer we (SAHGA) have participated
in this event for many years.
This involvement has helped our relationship with the FS.
We need a PG presence at this years event? any takers?
We will depart from Tucson around 7:30 on Sat morning.

Thank You

Eric

Thanks to Eric for organizing this event and thanks very much to everyone who turned up to support it. The USFS appreciates our participation as you can see by the letter Rebecca sent us:

Good Morning,

I just wanted to send out a thank you to everyone who supported National Get Outdoors Day this year and so many years before. The kids love spending the day with all of you and you make it very special. We really appreciate all of your hard work and dedication to this event. Thank you for your continued support to this event and to the Sierra Vista Ranger District. I look forward to working with all of you in the near future!

Sincerely, Rebecca
