Mustang Dec. 21 ?

Post by lewsmith » Sat Dec 19, 2009 7:13 pm

I am interested in flying Mustang on Monday, Dec 21 - provided the wind prediction still looks good Monday morning. Anyone else interested? Irina, John, Wyatt, Terry, Morey, Scott, Fred, Ed, Ross, Red, out of town flyers, (did I miss anyone?) ?

I'd love to but I've got the kids until Christmas. I'll be free for a week after then though, if the weather looks good for Mustang or maybe even Miller if you're available :fingersx:

I too would love to go fly but I'm still grounded with a recalcitrant back.

Irina,
I usually meet pilots at the parking area north of Houghton and I-10 (exit 275) at 1PM. Will that work for you? I will recheck the wind prediction in the morning and give you a call to make final arrangements.

Canceling my plan to fly

Post by lewsmith » Mon Dec 21, 2009 9:16 am

I just checked the predicted surface winds for Mustang ( SW 10 MPH picking up later) and predicted winds aloft (for Tucson)(SW or WSW 11 MPH @ 6K and 16 @ 9K). Given that Mustang's winds are usually 50% higher, today looks very marginal.
Anyway, I am canceling my plan to fly Mustang today.
