Flying Sunday

Post by clspark » Mon Jun 07, 2010 7:21 pm

Got my first flight in at Hat Creek Rim, Northern CA, yesterday. High pressure, overcast, light winds. Two of us were up over an hour and 3000 over launch. This is a nice gentle site with easy access to a large setup area complete with portajohn... I mean ...potty. LZ s are large grassy meadows and although fairly surrounded by pines, easy to get into. It is no Miller, but it is a great place to renew my relationship with the sky. Near views while airborne are the snow covered peaks of Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta, the two southern most volcanoes resulting from the subducting Juan de Fuca plate.

Sincerely

Chuck

Nice to hear your voice again (in an internet kinda' way).
Glad to hear you had some enjoyable sky time. Good for the soul.

Ok, it is a little rough on the edges but the "Woofos" at the end are almost worth waiting for.

Morey: I don't know when I will be getting back down there home, but the sooner the better. There is nowhere on earth better than SOAZ

Eric: If you listen closely to the very beginning you will hear your old Litek still singing its song! Thanks for all the good equip.
