March 1 was the 14 year anniversary of Arjan's death. I was out of town, but hope to spend some time at Box in the next few weeks for some reflection, introspection and aviation. (I'd love to fly my HG.)
On a completely different subject, my ultimate HG adventure 4x4 project is finally complete. A mid-life crisis gone completely over the top. I'll take some pics and write up a humorous essay on the dangers of slippery slopes.
Herr Gunter, I am back from Arabia with many stories to tell. Let's connect early in April.

I usually try to climb -and in the past, fly- Box on March 1 in memory of Arjan. I did so again this March 1. The wildflowers -mostly poppies- were out although perhaps not as plentiful as in peak years. It brought back many memories of a unique person and good friend.
This was my first attempt to climb a steep mountain since my accident and my new and improved body -now with 22 metal parts- made it to the first knoll. I think I could have made it to the top, but decided not to push my luck on the first try.
