Looks like I've got a hall pass from my wife and baby for Saturday! No idea yet what the weather's gonna' be like, but I'm thinking I might wanna' fly the HG this weekend. Specially if there's OD potential.

nice offer

Post by morey » Wed Aug 25, 2004 12:24 pm

Thanks Eric. That's nice of you to offer.
It's been six months since I've flown the HG (Whetstones in Feb). However, I think I still feel pretty comfortable about launching and landing the Xtralite. I'll fly conservatively (as always), and hope for a bit of a headwind on landing.

Although if you happen to have a 135 Sport2 demo laying around somewhere

I think it will be very light winds from the south Sat morning, I do not have a very good T hill that faces south?
Also I may have travel plans for Sat. I will know tonight.
I looks like I may train on Sunday instead due to weather conditions, and available students.
Would that work for you?

I'm available to fly and train both Sat. and/or Sun.
Sat. looks good for Box right now. (W to WSW at 9 mph in the valley)

I can be out for Saturday morning, I have a lunch meeting to go to at Noon.

Jerry

Morey, a couple of ladies rode some horses over to see me when I landed near the river to see if I knew you and said to say Hi. They were at your Birthday party.

Horses and Gravel Pits

Jerry-
Where did you land? What river? Was one of the ladies named Godiva? She would have been the naked chick.

Gravel Pits are a PG hike up site, on the east side of the north end of the Mustang mountains, just across the highway from the south end Whetsones. Works for any direction with East in its name.

It looks like light winds for saturday, so it should be good at Miller. I'm still planning on heading out in the am. Jerry- wanna' carpool?

My hall pass is only good for the morning and I'm planning on working on launching and landing skills in the PG.

Unfortunately her name wasn't Godiva and it was at the intersection of Palominas road and Three Canyons road across the valley from Miller.

I plan on meeting Gunter at the usual training hill around 8:30 and then deciding where to train.

Jerry,
Interesting that you are planning on going to the training hill on Sat. I am training seven students on Sunday.
Good Luck

Mattias is in town!

Post by jlowery » Fri Aug 27, 2004 6:47 pm

I just had a call from Mattias Gottman, he's in town for a visit and said he'd meeting us at Eric's at 8 AM tomorrow.

He doesn't have his gear and won't be flying, but it'll be nice to see him again.
