Mark, thanks for posting this. There are good lessons for all of us in your experience, and this is certainly worth discussing if you can make it to the next meeting. I don't think we've mentioned it recently, but there are several good texts about paragliding skills that are useful reading for anyo...

January Meeting - Don't Miss It!
This promises to be the most momentous meeting so far this year! It's election time and you will be nominated and could be elected. There will be updates on the Miller launch and road, the chute clinic, and flying at Box, Mustang, and from State Trust Land. Not only that, it's a great opportunity to...

Saturday Forecast
Both the aviation and FSL forecasts are showing strong SW winds aloft today. If they are right it's a Whetstone day for the stiffies and blown out for the bag wings.

New Years A
Angelo, with any luck there should be a few hard core SAHGA members welcoming the New Year on the A tomorrow morning. If I remember correctly from last year the park road didn't open until about 8 AM. I was supposed to be in LA tomorrow but missed that and will miss the A since I'm still fighting th...

Thanks
Thanks, Gunter, for helping everyone have a great safe flight - you have my vote(s) for next month's Pilot of the Month award. Congratulations to all for the good flying. It just shows that Mustang can really work even if it's overcast. I'm sorry I couldn't stick around but had to be back in Tucson ...

December Meeting Update
Only one week to the December meeting. This one is going to be BIG. For those of you who do not have calendars to mark, Jason will have shiny new ones for 2006. There will be major updates on the chute clinic. Check out John's amazing web page at http://www.sahga.com/chuteclinic.html Sign up before ...

December Meeting - Mark Your Calendar
December (12/13) will be an important meeting. We need as many members there as possible. Jason will present plans for the road bypass and proposed ramp improvements at Miller. He also has the 2006 hang gliding and paragliding calendars (the best pictures are from Arizona). We hope to have an update...

Forecasts
Today looks like a good HG day for Box but may be a bit windy for the bag wings. Too early to tell for tomorrow. I've got committments for tomorrow PM so may not be able to fly.

Saturday
My chances of getting to fly today are low, but if I were going out I'd favor Box. The winds aloft forecast for the PM are all light NW.

Weekend
I'd like to fly tomorrow but have to teach a class and may not be done in time to make it to a Box or Mustang Glass. Sunday is possibility but I don't know my schedule yet. Tonight's forecast is conflicted regarding wind strenth so probably best to check in the AM.

Saturday
Guido, I think you're right. It appears the weather guessers missed their forecast. Expecting a no fly day I got busy doing house chores and didn't check the weather until this afternoon. It appears that there should be light winds. The only problem might be that the increasing cloud cover could shu...
