I flew Green's Peak today. Yesterday, I went up there in the afternoon, and the wind was blowing gently over the back.
Today, around 5:00 p.m. the base wind was around 15 with gusts around 20 from the west, so I waited. By 5:45 the gusts were down to 15, so I launched straight toward the campground.
There was not enough workable ridge lift for me to stay up, and the thermals I found had rough enough edges to encourage me to head out and land by the road where I had planted the windsock.
It was only a five minute extended sled ride, but what a beautiful site. We drove right up to launch, and my dad collected me right where I landed. It was 65 degrees.

Congratulations
It's always nice to fly a new site. As an RC guy you should have taken something to play with while the winds were mellowing. Here's a link to the Flagstaff Flyers info page on Greens Peak: http://www.flagstaffflyers.com/flyingsi ... speak.html
