Box was blown out on Saturday. Ted (a visiting pilot from Colorado) and I hiked to the first knoll and found the wind too strong and too gusty around 2PM. We hiked to the top in hopes of an evening glassoff, but it became clear that the wind was not going to slow down. We then hiked back down to the first knoll in hopes of a sunset flight, but the strong wind would not quit. We did not get to fly, but we got a week's worth of exercise!

That sucks, that Chandler's first experience there was blown out. We'll have to get him out there when the winds are predicted less than ten.

This is a link to my photos of our South Mountain flying trip form last Saturday.

I had a good time flying and not spending more time hiking up than flying. This was my first flight off of South Mountain and a darn good one at that.

BBBBBBBBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGG thanks to Becky for driving.
