Please respond to "National Park Service" restrict

Post by Gunter » Mon Jan 30, 2006 6:57 pm

Fellow HG and PG pilots, please log onto USHGA home page and read about future restrictions on flying in our "National Parks". There are sample letters available which you can use as a starter. It's easy to fill out a form and paste and copy the letter with your additions, or write your own letter and then "submit'. But please hurry, must be submitted by Feb. 18th. Thanks to all who respond in trying to save our flying sites.

Write those letters!

Gunter, thanks for posting this. This really is important, and this may be our last chance to get hang gliding and paragliding recognized as appropriate activites in the national parks. I encourage everyone (you don't have to be a pilot to write a letter in support of this) to take the time to let the National Park Service know how you feel. Being able to fly in our national parks could make a huge difference to the future of our sport.

If you start with the USHGA sample letter (www.ushga.org), it takes less than five minutes to send your comments to the National Park Service using the NPS web site (link is on the USHGA web site).
