It's a good thought Wyatt, but the answer to your question is not really. Mustang is a tricky site because it requires light SW winds to be flyable. Often here when it is SW (prefrontal) it is too strong, and our light postfrontal west winds tend to be NW. Generally, Mustang may be flyable if the 6-...

Stuart, here's a link to the Tucson PPG web site: http://www.tucsonppg.com/Home_Page.php. There is no club for motoring in this area, but a number of folks post their flights / flight plans on this site. Most of the flying is done on the west side of town in the Marana / Red Rocks area. I haven't fl...

Mustang Report
Ed, Scott, Wrangler, Jammer and I arrived in the LZ about 2PM. By that time Lew and Wyatt were already on their way up to launch. When we first got to the LZ it looked like perfect conditions from the SW. But a few minutes later it went to light and variable and then more consistently north. Scott s...

Saturday
The forecast looks light west most everywhere. So could be flyable at all the sites. I think I'll stay in Tucson and check the update a little later. Mustang is still a possibility and I might consider flying it with a gasoline assist.

Flight Report
Ed, Karla, Wrangler, Jammer and I all met at Mustang and started the hike up about 3:30. Conditions looked good in the LZ with a SW wind about 8-10 and puffy cumulus clouds dotting the sky. When we got to launch the wind was a bit brisk (cycles to 20) and there was a gray towering cumulus with some ...

Flight Report Addendum and Turkey Nomination
Thanks for the pictures Morey, and thanks again to Gunter, Terry, Jason, Eric and Raquel for the company and launch assistance. This is also a self nomination for Turkey. Normally I go upright at the beginning of a fairly long final. Today I delayed that while I S-turned from base to final. I could ...

Sunday
I agree it's way too far ahead to tell, but definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Evening Update
The forecast trend seems to be for increasing wind speed tomorrow:
--Tucson surface winds: ESE 10-16 with gusts to 25
--Winds aloft at Miller launch level SE about 20
I think I'll recheck in the morning and hope for an A-mountain day.
