There's a possibility that we can do some training at the "Antelope" training hills in Sonoita. The window I see is between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The valley winds are projected to be 11 mph / ssw. It may be slightly stronger there due to the hills. But it a good opportunity to practise. I'll make myself available for anybody interested. Please call me 906-0182. As of late Sun. the rest of the day may be too strong for Pgs.
We could meet at the gas station at Houghton and Suahrita rd. at 8:15 a.m.

Boating Anyone?
Gunter,
Your phone is busy. Thanks for calling.
I am going to pass on any flying or practicing here until I come back in the fall. I will try to get as much kiting/flying in this summer as possible. I 'm looking forward to more flights like the one I had with you at Mustang last December.
We should be in the area for a while more. I am going to start building a 18 foot skiff in my garage:

It will be for use this summer in California and in San Carlos Sonora next year.
I have your club T-Shirt. I will bring it to the next meeting.

Antelope Hills Report
Irena, Mark, Charlie and I all met at Antelope Hills around 9 a.m. Conditions we're light and variable getting stronger as the morning progressed. I think they were ideal conditions to practise handling your wing under constantly changing conditions (just as we experience at most of our launches). Mark got initiated by getting dragged a few times. Charlie demonstrated excellent kite handling and had a few sledders. All was good until his last flight when he landed, but a gust came thru, picked him up, and dumped him. He twisted his ankle slightly and bumped his wrist. (lesson #1 - never wear low cut sneakers when paragliding or practising esp. around here - always wear sturdy high top boots). Lesson# 2 - always have your breaks in your hand (or d's) and walk toward the wing when landing.
Anyway excellent practise and lessons learned. Better on the training hill than up at launch.
