The Craters weekend is here! Let`s go flying!

Orrin is heading out Wednesday afternoon. I am leaving Wednesday evening. We will be at Merriams thru Monday the 8th.
Any one desiring to fly come on out. It`s a great place to get back in the air.
My vehicle will be available to transport up Merriams/Sheba.
My students will be using the Falcons in the morning (4 or 5 of them). You can use them during the day if you need an easy glider to get a flight in after a lay off. Any special request give me a call.
Allen an I have discussed doing some PG kiting as well, if your interested? A bit of the dark side. I`ll bring a couple.

Directions from Tucson to Merriam Crater LZ: Route 10 north about
100+ miles to Rt 17/Flagstaff exit (143A) . Continue north on Rt. 17
100+ for
140 miles to Flagstaff exit 340, I-40 east. Take I-40 east about 12 miles to exit 207, North Coconino Road. Take Coconino Rd north about two miles to Townsend-Winona Road, turn right and go two miles to Leupp Road, and turn left. Take Leupp road north about 13 miles. You’ll see Merriam on the left and Sheba on the right. GPS coordinates are 35d20.2’N 111d 15.8’W.

Driving directions to Flyer's Camp: From Townsend-Winona Road, go about 6 miles north on Leupp Road to mile marker 433. Across from the mile marker on the west side of the road is a small dirt road. Turn onto the dirt road and drive 0.9 mile. Pass a small tin utility shed off the right side of the road, go to the next left, turn left and drive a short distance to enter the campground clearing.

Hope to see you there.

Thanks Eric. I'll be leaving Thursday morning so should join up with the group sometime Thursday afternoon.

Revision 1 - I just looked at the forecast, and Thrusday afternoon could be blown out. I'll check the weather Thrusday morning and if it looks too strong I'll probably come up Friday instead.

Seeings how I have a brand new renewed membership card in my wallet it may be possible that I will show up in Flag on Friday. I have some non related logistics to work out, but will try to get up there. Hope to see you there

I just sold my boat and the buyer is coming down from Wa. state next week to pick it up. I have to do the brakes and bearings on the trailer prior to transport. This will impact my weekend. Hopefully I can get it done in time to get to fly. But it looks like Sunday will be the earliest I can get up there now. Hope to see you all and fly Sunday and Monday.

Sorry I missed the craters. Looks like Sun and Mon were good days for launch and landing work. Still working on the trailer.
