Nicely done, towing team.

I'd like to add a special thanks to whomever did all the vegetation clearing on the East launches at Miller. Another pilot of the month nomination. We didn't get to enjoy using the newly cleared launches this weekend, but we we soon (I hope).

Flying

Too Bad it OD`ed early yet again at Miller.
John Lowery stared brush clearing on Sat the 12th. Tom Morrission and I continued the effort, even widening the east launch some, on Wed the 16th- it OD`ed early that day and blew down! There is still plenty yet to be done- I am planning on cutting the stumps down with my chain saw.
We could use some general clearing on the north launch as well as the north side of the east launch, just in case anyone was inclined to continue the effort!

For the Houser road crew- Whitney- Debbie-Rafael- John and my students Bill and Davis & Josh my thanks in helping me get the tandems accomplished. I had a lot of equipment to tear down and set up and they pitched in and made it happen. John for his tow teching in the dust storm condition behind my truck during the tow- Rafael for teching so well for John- Debbie for driving! We had several very happy tandem students.
A was a very long and productive day!
Great to see John climb out and leave!
This is exactly what we have been striving for ! Soaring flights from towing aloft!
My students were stoked to see us soaring tandem. They have been scooter towing to a couple hunderd feet.

Whitney had her best flight ever! We soared around over head. My tandem student, Melissa, from Maryland got to see her go first! Thanks for the demo Whitney I am sure it helped- I know it helps me explain the whole process.

For JohnW and Terry-
Nope, we didn't miss anything. Looks like the report from South Mountain on Saturday wasn't anything special. A bunch of sledders.
At least we got a nice view and cool weather.

Thanks to everyone there - it was a great day although It was so hot!! John's canopy helped alot. I had my best surface tow ever. Eric brought us in fast and hard for the most fun landing I have ever had. Then again I even enjoy the not so great landings haha. Looking forward to seeing the video if it is available. Josh, the last tandem had never even flown in a plane before (can't even imagine that???) the highest he had ever been in the air was scooter tow. He did great.
