Box Saturday?

Post by jlowery » Thu Dec 24, 2009 7:03 am

Is anyone up for flying Saturday? The 48-hour ADDS winds aloft forecast looks like it might be good for Box Canyon. If the forecast stays anything north of west I'd like to try it. My last Box flight was over a year ago!

Merry Christmas to everyone, hope Santa brings you something great!

John

Merry Christmas to you all.
What is the plan for tomorrow? I can collect Irina from her house on my way.
What time and where are we meeting?

Darkwing64, while I'm not qualified to sponsor you, I'm happy to give you a ride to the site and explain what I know about it. Then you can make your own decision about flying.
I live in Oro Valley.
Watch this space, as we'll post our plan here...as soon as we have one.

Or maybe not...

Well, the conditions look *very* light northwest, so I think I'll sit it out today. It looks like great PG weather, but nothing but a sled ride for the HGs.

Sorry about that...

I am interested in flying today, also, and will keep an eye on the message board.

Terry, Vann, Irina, and I are headed to Mustang, planning to be on launch around 2:00 p.m.

3 sled rides, 5 hikes, and no injuries.
Oh, and there were patches of snow, even in the LZ. The north face of Mustang had a pretty nice dusting of the white stuff. While pretty to fly over, it did not seem to be releasing many thermals.
Still, it was a lovely day.
Thanks to everyone who came out.

John, Thank you to take us for the Mustang yesterday... I enjoyed hikes and also my failed attempt to fly (it was the first time from 2006!). I need to do more kiting. I add some pic of John and Terry: Sky was dramatic!

I add the pic of John and Terry to my album.
