Lew hiked down just as Jake and I launched. He was giving himself plenty of time to get down before sunset.

John,
No, I did not fly Wednesday. I should have, but I was spooked by the gusts over 20, and the reluctance of the speedwing pilots to launch in the high wind. There were nice launch cycles and it probably would have been a great glassoff. I do a lot of hiking down the mountains these days because I would rather be safe than sorry!

Lew, it sounds to me like you made a great decision. Clearly Guido and I were more than a little spooked by the swift base winds and overly sporty gusts.
I'm glad the speedwing pilots had good flights and that you had a safe hike down.
