How about Miller tomorrow? Conditions look light in the morning, NW in the afternoon?

Ok John, let`s meet in the front Lz around 12:30, we can leave your car there and show the boy`s the front LZ. Davis and Bill may come along, John L said he`s in, any one else? give me a call.

That works fine. I have some commitments in the morning, but I'll be there as close to 12:30 as I can manage.

I might be able to go also. I would love to get another flight at box before they close the road.

The forecast looks worse than it did yesterday. I think it's likely to be blown out for PGs, so I will pass.

The wind on the upper North launch averaged 17 mph NNW (just as predicted), but gusted between 12 and 22 most of the time. There were numerous gusts to 25 and a few short 5 mph lulls. I was at launch from 4:30 to 6:10 PM and got the feeling that conditions were not changing and left.
The HG pilots reported trashy air around 5 PM, and "gusts rather than thermals" later, with glassoff setting in near sunset. I think a better PG pilot with (very good high wind launch skills) could have had a fairly good - maybe bumpy - flight.

Sat turned out soarable for us!

We, Shawn/I launched John L around 4:45- he climbed above launch right away. John flew over to the Northwest bowl and soared up over the top. He seemed to get pretty high for a high pressure day! About a grand over. Shawn and Red and I launched Davis next , conditions were NNW 6 to 10. We waited for a west cycle and Davis stepped into it. He did not get any lift after launch and found himself gliding to the NW bowl low. He barely got above the lower spine and scratched up from there!
I launch in a pretty good cycle and climbed to the spine behind launch , then glided to the NW bowl to soar with John and Davis. We all swapped placed for the next several hours. John landed after an hour and twenty and Davis and I flew for two hours. We all had good landing in the front LZ.
I was flying Frankenstein, the old Falcon I, I never saw any wind to speak of over the top. Next to the side hill it was compressed and blowing at altitude it blew 12 to 14.
