How about Miller in the morning? Winds look very light, it should come up the cliff face.

Meet in the Lz around 0800?

I'd be interested in going but I don't see any weather that supports that to be the correct place to go.

I see SW surface winds and SW winds aloft for both Saturday and Sunday. I see wind speeds in the low teens gusting to the mid to upper 20's.

I did not spend much time checking. What are you seeing that make it worthwhile?

Andy,

http://aviationweather.gov/adds/winds/

At the moment, the ADDS winds-aloft maps show the area of higher SW winds (6000' @ 1800 GMT tomorrow) as being west and central Arizona, with southeast Arizona having light west winds at that time. By 0000 GMT it goes SW at 10-15.

That's a common weather pattern for Miller in the summer. There's no guarantee we'll get off, it depends on the forecast being accurate, and the heating being enough to offset the expected light OTB winds. If it does work, though, the XC prospects are good.

We'll check the forecast again tonight before committing.

John

you guys should be able to get off.
The SW looks like it might be light. If it's less than 7 or 8, the thermies' coming up the ramp will easily overpower the SW flow.

Looks like a perfect day of flying here in the berkshires tomorrow- but I'll be groundbound. Instead- I've been logging some bike miles and did another triathlon yesterday with the local club. Calves are so sore today, I can barely walk. :)

Yah, it`s not gusting to 29 like it was predicted last weekend!

The Lee side action should cover us.
