Where shall we fly tomorrow? Looks like Miller could work.

Think you could be right.
The wind predictions look a little fickle?
I may have a tandem to do?
I may try an do it by towing? Depends on how the support system is
working.

What is the rest of the regular`s thinking?

I'd be interested in Box Saturday evening. At 5pm, winds are NW@10mph from surface thru 6000'.

Whitney, thanks very much for offering to drive. We all really appreciate your help, even if we too often fail to express that appreciation.

Shall we plan to be in the LZ around 9:00 with a goal of being on launch around 10:00? I will collect any baggers who need a ride along the way so long as I know before I leave my house around 7:00.

Sat flyn ( report added)

Post by Eric » Sun Oct 10, 2010 4:05 pm

Sat 9 October 2010

We met in the Miller LZ around 9:30am, John W. Andy,Lynn, Clay, Whitney an I.
Wind in the landing zone was SE to E 3 to 5mph. Andy and John loaded up an we drove up the Mt. Conditions at launch( SE) were still when we first arrived an light in cycles shortly there after.
Andy and John walked out to the PG launch and were in the air by around 11:45am. John launched first an found some light up air, Andy followed shortly there after.
Clay an I set. Whitney an I launched him around noon. He rose above launch right off of the ramp. His flight plan called for gliding out to the ridge line then working available lift so he did just that! He soared around close to the LZ for about twenty minutes. He executed a good approach and landing, so he and I were pleased.
Mean while John W. an Andy were still soaring! not sure how long they were up?
Lynn an I finished our practice runs etc. We waited behind Launch with some help form Whitney. Conditions were changing, SSW cycles 8 to 10!!
We waited twenty minute an launched into 8 to 10 SE! Lynn ran well an we got a nice boost over the reef. We were able to soar. The NE launch had lift as well, we circled up a few hundred feet. Aftyer gliding out to the LZ we ended up flying around over the LZ for a few thermal cycles . Lynn got to watch Andy come in an land from aloft. We had an uneventful landing an watched John W. come in awhile after.
Quite a nice day for October.
Whitney drove down, while we broke down, thanks for all the help.
Thanks for the transportation ,John W.
Looked like it payed off for you, I think you got the flight of the day! I know you were soaring for quite a while!
