It looks pretty windy in the afternoon for me to fly, so I'm planning to go to Babad Do'ag early in the morning. I'm taking me wing but will decide from the parking area if I hick up with or without a wing.

Babad Do'ag flight report

Post by amiller » Sat Oct 30, 2010 2:21 pm

I arrived at launch around 9:00AM. The wind was blowing in from the WNW so I took some time to put up some streamers that I could see from the park area with binoculars. By then the wind had shifted more to the SW with some signs of thermals coming up the south side. I called Lew and then prepared to launch. I launched at 10:44AM and got a 20-min flight with a max altitude of 4600ft. Had a good launch and good landing. The wind was little strong in the air but manageable. Stayed further out front than I would have do to the strong winds.

I have a few photos, one short video and a track-log if anyone wants to see them.

Let me know by e-mail and I can e-mail it to you. arellima at gmail.com

Congradulations Andy! nice job.
Always had a good time flying the south face of the Catalinas. We just dont have a launch area any more. Looks like you do!
