The Oatmen Flyn is going on, if you like a crowd. I am not interested in that long of a day trip. My students don`t need the congested air traffic, it is predicted SE so ..
I plan on flying Miller conditions look light SE. It definitly could change by Sat morning.

The NWS surface forecast for Elgin and the winds aloft forecast for Tucson tell me that MUSTANG should work in the afternoon and also at glassoff time. I will check again in the morning. I previously made other plans for Saturday, but if the wind is right, I will have to break those plans and go flying.

It looks like a Mustang day. I plan to be there around 2 or 3 PM.

Saturday was a great day at Mustang. Ross had a 1 hour and 45 minute flight and Ed Hileman and I got one hour flights. We all landed within 10 minutes of a beautiful sunset (some before some after). There is nothing like a Mustang glassoff!

Sat Miller Canyon

Orrin an Shane got the flights of the Day top of lift for Shane 10,200 ft msl! 2.5 hours in the air! Orrin was up 2 hrs as well, don`t know how high he got? They both made low saves on the spine. According to John, Shane took a no winder, may be a little tail wind, around 1, same thing with Orrin.
I launched first around 11 with my tandem student Leonie. We were able to soar for a few passes in Miller canyon an along the east face of the reef.
Clay launched next an got above the reef in some thermals. We packed up an headed up for round two , misseed it by this much..
John did not like, the 90 coss or no wind so he broke down. We checked out the north launch but conditions were light, so we drove down.

Great fall day for Miller!

had a good flight in the new glider. i now have 2 flights 4 hours in it and am loving it. the highlight of the flight for me was making the low save on the spine and taking that same thermal all the way up to 9000. after that i flew up the canyon and soared car peak for about 45 minutes staying between 9500 and 10200 ft. putting on a show for several hikers on the top of car peak.
