CATALINA RANGER DISTRICT
Fire Restrictions Remain in Effect, Other Ranger
Districts to Open When Fire Danger is Reduced

TUCSON, AZ (July 6, 2011) – The Coronado National Forest has been closed to public
use because of extreme fire danger. Due to a reduction in fire danger in the Santa
Catalina Mountains, the Coronado will reopen the Santa Catalina Ranger District
effective July 6 at 11:59 p.m. The area which will reopen includes the Santa Catalina
Mountains, Redington Pass, and Happy Valley. Roads, trails and recreation sites on the
district will be reopened. Stage II Fire Restrictions will remain in effect as follows:
