Flight Report:
Beautiful Sunny day with an ideal wind direction. The velocity was a bit less than ideal. We got there a little later than we hoped, and, it being my first time, I wanted to sit and observe the cycles and numerous wind indicators for a while. With all this I didn't launch until about 1600. I fought hard to stay up. I got in a 45 min flight. All the while I never got above launch. I found the best lift on that NW ridge that extends out to the LZ. It was looking really promising when I first got into it. I made a few turns and tried to map out the thermal and before I knew it the thing died down, I sank quite a bit, then headed out to the LZ.
Overall, a great first flight at a new site.
