Guido is in town and ready to fly. It's also a designated XC task weekend.
Who is available to fly or drive?

Looks light SW on Saturday. Mustangable.

I can't make it however.

Mustang and Lemmon both look good, although the forecast shows stronger thermals and higher top of lift at Mustang. As we're nearing the end of the Lemmon season, I lean that way, but I could easily be persuaded to go to Mustang.

We have 6 pilots expressing interest thus far: Colin, Ewan, Guido, Ross, Andy, and I.

Please let me know your preference so we can establish a plan before about 8:00 p.m. tonight.

I totally agree with John. But we will need a driver for Mt. Lemmon ?!

Mustang on Saturday, Lemmon on Sunday.

On Saturday, we'll meet on the NW corner of Houghton and I-10 at 7:30 a.m. and plan to be hiking by 8:30 a.m., putting Brad in the air by 10:00 a.m.
For Saturday's expedition I have confirmation from Brad, Colin, Ewan, Guido, and me. If anyone else is planning to turn up, please send me e-mail so that I'll know to put an extra seat or two into the Yukon before I leave the house around 6:30 a.m.

Great day at Mustang:
Brad successfully mastered his first flight from Mustang in strong conditions.
Colin, Ewen and me went XC.
Just John was unlucky: A ball in the lines forced him to land. But he did a great job and got us back from various places in Southern Arizona.

I look forward to fly tomorrow again (hopefully Mt. Lemmon)

It doesn't look like that we can do Mt. Lemmon today. Therefore I intend to go to Box Canyon for an afternoon flight/glassoff. If s.o. else is interested, give me a call (see cellphone no. in my post below)

As Guido said, we had a great day at Mustang, albeit with more excitement than we preferred on launch. (I'll save those stories for the meeting).

Given the southwesterly flow, we agreed on a pretty simple task: Mustang Launch to St. David, and then on to goal at Wilcox. While nobody managed to tag St. David, Ewan and Guido had it surrounded.

Ewan carried the day with 286 points with Guido close behind at 230. Colin and I brought up the rear with 109 and 90 respectively.
