Tucson, AZ (December 23, 2013) – The Sierra Vista Ranger District of the Coronado National Forest will temporarily close and lock gates December 23 on seasonal roads and campgrounds in Carr Canyon due to seasonal snowfall. Carr Canyon Road (Forest Service Road 368) is closed from the gate prior to the bridge near Carr House to the end of the published road near Ramsey Vista Campground. Reef Townsite and Ramsey Vista campgroundsare both temporarily closed.

Seasonal road and recreation site closures occur each year. In recent years the Coronado delayed closures until snow accumulated. Roads and recreation sites affected by winter weather will reopen on March 1, unless weather conditions render them unsafe before or after those dates. .
