We didn`t see an PG pilots, ? short recap of my flight, below
I launched around 3. Climbed to the ridge behind launch an soared. Crossed to the PG launch site an thermalled for about 15 min`s till I hooked one an took it over the back to the meadow. Good lift available there stayed up for about an hour got packed up just as John arrived to pick me up. We were back in Tucson by before dark. Good lift nice 2 an 300 fpm climbs.

Thanks John

Well it didn't go so good for us. Brandon said he saw you flying around, but you were gone when I arrived in the LZ about 4pm.

Four of us hiked to the lower launch getting there about 4:45. Winds were NW about 14mph Gust 18. So we waited for thing to calm down. But it didn't, it seamed to get stronger (16 G25) then as the sun was setting about 6pm (12 G 20) we decided to hike down while it was still light. Of Course half way down (at fence) sun had set and wind was a nice (7 G 10).

You win some you lose some. We did have a great hike, beautiful sunset and a nice cold beer in the parking lot.

Wow ! the opposite happened to me. Launch conditions were light, 6 to 10, NNW. I scatched around to find the thermal that took me over the back. My drift was 8 miles an hour to the meadow, real slow going. Then nice thermals back there to play with. The only real breeze I encountered was down low near the surface of the hill tops SE of the meadow. I wondered out loud to John, if I didn`t launch too early! The thing with Box is , when you get high enough to make the meadow, you go for it!
I will post next time earlier before I go. Sorry it didn`t work out for you guys, it happens.
I did spot a new light green flagging on the NNW PG launch, it went limp several times while I was soaring over in that bowl! I see our, John L`s wind sock is still up in the LZ.
