Winds still look great for the glass off, See you there
Re: Mustang SAt 11/29
I'd love a stress free flight. Winds aloft look a bit strong.

Re: Mustang SAt 11/29
There are at least 5 of us hiking up Mustang today, we'll be in LZ by 2 or 2:30 PM.
The wind will be a little strong and slightly cross on launch but I think we'll have another great glass-off. If not, at least we'll burn out the turkey
Join us!
Planning to be on launch at 3:30 - 4 PM.
The wind tomorrow looks good too, might be a little lighter and straight up the slope.
DRESS WARM! Get ski gloves, a down jacket and long thick pants

Re: Mustang SAt 11/29
How was it?
Re: Mustang SAt 11/29
The winds were a little strong when we reached the top of Mustang. 12-14 with gusts to 18 so we waited around for an hour or so before we took off.
I waited for a lighter cycle and launched at 4:10 in winds of 10-12 mph and went up relatively fast and easy. Did not have to use the speed bar but I surely kept it handy. The air was strong but smooth with lift prety much everywhere.
It was definitely a day where you needed to launch lower down the slope and have the speedbar ready to bite. Hugh went a little too far into the canyon between Mustang and Bruno and had to bail out early, the rest of us flew around until after sunset. I landed at 5:45 after about 1.5 h in the air.
Great day for getting some big wingovers in without loosing altitude.

Re: Mustang SAt 11/29
Great Sunday at Mustang as well. Chris, Mic and I flew the glass-off for about 1.5 h.
It was weaker than the day before, coming up straight West at 10 mph, as predicted.
