"A" Mountain report

Post by jlowery » Sun Sep 19, 2004 10:33 pm

Eric Smith got the first flight back off the "A", a couple of minutes in a light south on a Falcon before landing in the front LZ. Jason Otto arrived shortly after, set up his Falcon, and got another short one.

But it was getting stronger, and by the time Mark Sawyer took off he got up to the top of the "A", and Jason and I followed him off and spent the next half-hour or so soaring at a hundred or two over launch.

Five flights, no carnage, and a channel 9 photographer got some video of Jason and Mark soaring, so that may show up on the TV in the next few days.

The "A" is open and life is good :D

Soaring the A

Post by Eric » Mon Sep 20, 2004 8:27 am

I was able to soar above the castle and back to the launch ramp several passes, before the wind shifted. Brief but still a lot of fun!

I was watching the wind with tears in my eyes all day. Wish I coulda' been there, but I'm sure glad that the rest of you got to enjoy some "A" time.

Anyone get interviewed by Channel 9?
