Flying Box Sunday Afternoon

Post by Gunter » Sun Oct 03, 2004 8:03 am

I'm planning on flying at Box this afternoon. I'm planning to be in the LZ at around 3pm, up at the lower launch at 4pm and in the air by 4:30pm. As of 8am the valley winds should be; @4pm -WSW@7, @5pm - W@8, and @6pm- W@6. Should be good. Who's coming?

Box Flying Report

I'll keep it short - sled ride. Winds light switching from W to NW. Some strong short punchy thermals. Lower launch, set up on W launch, moved to NW launch, then back to W launch. By that time it was dying out. ie. sled ride. Did have two hikers with me, Mark from Tucson (trying to get back into PG) and my neighbor Rich.
