A Tucson wannabe, new to the sport (with a LOT of sailplane experience) wants to observe, crew, hang out and learn about the art form over Thanksgiving. Anyone willing to point me in the right direction?

Hi, Earl

This is the place!

The guy you want to talk to is Eric Smith of Arizona Airfoils, our local instructor, flight director and most frequent flyer. He's in the phone book at (520) 790 3507, and his website is at http://ourworld.cs.com/azairfoils.

We frequently organize flying trips on this message board, sometimes by phone if things are changing.

Best bet is to contact Eric and let him know you're interested in going out to check out the sport. Since HG pilots are always desperate for someone to drive their truck down from the launch you might offer to drive if you don't mind.

Hope it works out,

John Lowery

Friends... I've spoken to Gunter and emailed with Scott H. and I'm getting the hang of this. I will check here on Firday AM and call Gunter to see what's up. Looking forward to watching some great flying and getting jealous and ramped up. Thanks for your help...

Hello Local pilots,
I'm a beginner as well, P2 and interested in flying during the weekdays. Would it be ok for a PG guy to tag along with you all during this week just to check out the sites?

Looking forward to getting in on some of this AZ flying!!

I am going to be in town from Colorado and I'd like to check out the flying sites in AZ. I realize I'm probably not going to find someone with gear to watch me fly (working on P2) but it would be cool to come out and crew/run shuttle/watch/bring beer for after the flying - whatever. Please let me know if that's ok and if so, where the sites are, when you go there...
Thanks
aspiring P2 in CO,
Joan
