Visiting Paragliders from Michigan

Post by MEPalardy » Wed Dec 22, 2004 6:34 pm

My husband and I (P3 and P2 pilots) are vacationing here through Dec. 31st and hope to get in some flying. Looking for local pilot(s) to hook up with to learn the sites.

Thanks,
Margaret & Frank

Welcome Margaret and Frank. The best way to fly in this area is to stay posted to this board. I plan on flying hopefuly this week or weekend. You can contact me on my cell phone at 520-906-0182. Gunter

I'm looking to go out on Sunday afternoon and get in a PG flight (if I still remember how). We'll see what the weather brings however.

Morey,

Are you still interested in flying today? And if so, where and when?

Thanks,
Frank & Margaret

I've just loaded my vehicle and am heading to 'A' mountain.

Too south for Miller.

Nice Little 'A' Day 12-26-04

Post by morey » Sun Dec 26, 2004 5:47 pm

Today was a nice little day at the 'A'. The flying was only passable, not stellar, but everyone had a nice time. Jason launched first, got up quickly, but managed a successful 13 minutes of airtime. Mark was readying to join him when he found out that he was missing a tip wand, so ended up not flying. Randy launched next in his refurbished big Dream and did very well, getting well over the peak. I attempted to join him in my HG, but scratched low for the whole of my 13 minute flight, succumbing to a lull that sucked Randy out of the sky as well. Fred, Frank (new club member from up north) and Gunter all flew their paragliders once the breeze mellowed just enough to make it not soarable. King for the day was Randy, who got well over 30 min of airtime.

A big thanks to Margaret and Frank who joined SAHGA, even though they were only here on vacation. Thanks for your donation which helps cover our rather significant insurance bill.

It looks possibly good for the 'Stangs today.
possibly a tad too strong.
possibly a tad to south.
But definitely a possibility.

Hope you went.

I am always interested in going to the Mustangs, though I haven't flown there yet. It's my closest site. I can fly most any day of the week if I know by 8am that someone else wants to go. My cell phone no. is 520-604-0209; call any time, I'm up early.
