Visiting Southern Arizona - want to fly

Post by Stefan from Vancouver BC » Fri Jan 28, 2005 1:41 am

Hello to all you good pilots in South Arizona,
My name is Stefan. I am safe pilot with barely 50 hrs of airtime and quite positive attitude with both USHga and HPAC licence graduated by Dion Vuk of IPARAGLIDE here in Vancouver BC. I am looking to make a trip to S California and S Arizona in the end of Feb (17-26) or maybe first part of March. Needless to say I would like to fly my Firebird grid in your area.
Please be so kind and give me some suggestions re; following:
1) should I wait till beginning of March?
2) Whom could I ask for maybe small introduction to your flying sites and what sites to fly?
3) where to fly this time of the year
4) can you suggest some reasonable place to stay - as long as it is safe, clean and dry for the night

Thanks in advance for whatever reply you can manage and hope to hear from you and maybe meeting you in person.

Best regards,

Stefan

Welcome Stefan- This is the best site to reach pilots. Leaving a notice when the time comes closer and a cell phone number helps also. It would be good if you got someone to commit to some days. The weather is not perfect this time of year, probably more predictable for S. Cal than here. The flying in S. Cal is easier also but we do have some pretty sites. They are for the most part all hike ups and fitness would be a must. I would be willing to take you out for a day and I'm sure others will follow. Where to stay- what's your budget or pleasure? Good luck, Ross
