I have some beginners who are interested in getting some air booty. It looks like conditions might be OK this morning at lower elevations, but the velocities are quite high this afternoon, even for advanced pilots, and there is a chance of rain in the PM as well. One students has to come down from Phoenix, so by the time we got to the training hill, conditions would probably be inappropriate. So I think it's a no-go.

Scott and all, I'm heading down to the training hill (Charlies) with Ray. and possible Clayton if I can get hold of him. We're planning to be in Sonoita at 10:30 and at Charlies around 10:45am. Be a great opportunity for doing some kiting and launches until it gets too strong. I've tried calling others but could not get thru. If interested plese call me on my cell, at 520-906-0182. Gunter

Gunther,
Thanks for getting/attempting to get some practice in for us low airtime guys. That training hill looks just about right for me for a few days anyway, getting used to this western inland air.
I just missed you and Ray at the parking lot(that was me hiking through the brush) because I had taken a wrong turn right at the end. Thanks again though. I'm looking forward to getting back out there.

Clayton

Clayton, sorry we missed you. I thought you were one of the local land owners. By the time we left it was blown out, 17 -23 est). but Ray got some good practise (1/2 way up the hill) in high wind launches. (15mph). He got picked up while facing the wing numerous times and handled it well. He also practised controlling his wing on the ground with high wind gusts. Hope to see you next time. Gunter
