We met Gunther at the Graterville turn off. He was returning from the training hill.
We headed out to the Whetstones, Ray decided to check it out.
Met Mike Warford at Granite peak road around 1:30.
We launched an hour latter. I took off first in the 155 Sport II. Wind conditions by then were light 8 to 10, and getting overcast. Up wind across the valley conditions were clearing. I was able to ridge soar to the peak behind launch. Thermals were scarce, after half an hour I worked up to 7800 feet msl. Mike waited through a long lull, and launched into improving conditions. The sun came back out and really made our day.
We were able to climb to cloud base 8600msl and play with the cloud suck.
Mike and I got snowed on briefly during our flight. The snow falling from the cloud appeared multi-colored for a moment, what a sight! Nice day, the air had nice clean, krisp feel to it.
Soared for an hour and a half and landed right next to the truck. Mike went a little long and had a much more exciting landing. No worries he`s fine!

I would have loved to soar the Whetstones with you guys! Sounds like it was a pretty spur-of-the-moment kind of thing. I am sorry to have missed it.
Glad to hear that you goy great flights!
