Eric, thanks for setting up another training hill day. We can all use the practice. We'll keep our fingers crossed that the weather cooperates.

Eric, I'd really like to help out on these training days. However, I'm out of town again this weekend. Please keep me posted if it changes. Gunter

Training day

Weather could change the plans. If the forecast is correct we may end up on the training hill in the morning and flying some where in the afternoon.
If any one has a preference let`s hear it!

I am a tentative for Sat. Laural is celebrating a birthday Saturday. I want to fly and celebrate. She is only barely encouraging.

I'm on board

I am on board for Saturday plans. Tow operations were called this weekend in anticipation of "wet" weather. Miller's more fun anyway. Looking forward to see you all again!

Training Hill

Sat winds are predicted south west aloft, no good for Miller. We should go to the training hill in the morning.
I will leave my place around 0730, I have a couple of students and will also bring gliders for the club. Let me know if you need something special.
I hope to fly in the afternoon, it may be light enough for PG at Mustangs in the afternoon. At this time it looks light for the Whetstones, in the afternoon.

See you there

Training Hill Day!

Post by Fred » Fri Mar 18, 2005 7:45 pm

Unless it's pouring rain, hopefully we'll see everyone out at the training hills tomorrow. Eric is planning on getting started between 0830 and 0900. Winds aloft forecast is SW, and it might be OK for the Stones in the afternoon for those so inclined.

I'm a usually out-of-town PG pilot interested in meeting some of you all (and flying) on Saturday at the training hill. I would also like to check out the Mustang sight in the afternoon, condition dependent. Anybody want to car pool? I'm on the east side of town (Tanque Verde and Soldier Tr).

Need Directions

Post by Allan » Fri Mar 18, 2005 9:07 pm

I'm interested in coming out if it looks dry enough. I've never been to this training hill and need directions. I remember seeing them prior to the last training hill day but I can't seem to find them now. Might be good to include on the site page of the website. :)

Thanks,
allan

From Sonoita, go north on 83. Turn right on Curly Horse Ranch Road. Follow the main road as it makes a 90 degree turn left, then right and the asphalt ends. Follow the main dirt road a few miles. Charlie's hill is on your right, right next to the road.
