Anyone want to fly this weekend? If so I am game.

I'd like to go tomorrow, but it doesn't look like a great day for a beginning PG pilot. Please let me know what you have in mind. Maybe I'll drive if nothing else.

I'm tied up Sunday morning, but available in the afternoon/evening.

Me too...but for me as a visitor I trust more the locals more to find a nice site this weekend...maybe even for paragliders

Forecast winds

Post by Fred » Sat Sep 10, 2005 9:20 am

Today looks like it will probably be blown out for paraglilders. Tomorrow could be a better day - possibly Mustang. It's worth checking in the morning.

I flew the A today, 1pm to 2pm. It is still perfect for soaring there, 14 gusting to 20 at TIA.
Jason showed up and helped me launch along with Chad.
I was able to cross to Tumamoch.
It looked real good after flying as well still blowing in, 15 os so.
The gust were too strong for PG, any HG could fly even a Falcon.
Any way thought you might want to know.

Sunday

Eric - glad to hear you took advantage of the A. An early check this evening of Sunday's weather is not looking good for paragliders - blown out again. But I'll recheck in the AM.

Sunday Update

Post by Fred » Sun Sep 11, 2005 8:06 am

The morning update is not quite as strong as predicted last night but still too strong for a trip to Mustang. The A might happen again today if you caught just the right window between too light and blown out for the bag wings. As Eric implied, the A is a better HG than PG site because usually when it's soarable it's blown out for the paragliders.

Thank you very much for your info Fred,

A mountain seems to be pretty restricted.. and I have not yet all permits which are necessary....So I think I rather go kiting with my PG today. Maybe
s.o. wants to go for a glassoff in Box this evening (suppose the winds aren't too much)...
regards Guido
