From a launch time point of view. I don't see any reason to be at the LZ before 9:30. Should be blowing in for most of the day, and 11am or so is probably the earliest that I'd be interested in launching. I was thinking of being at Houghton and I10 around 8:15-8:30.
Sound reasonable?

Today it's light from the NE with a top of lift below 12K. Tomorrow, it's supposed to be a bit stronger, and a bit more E to SE. So, the direction will be better for making it to the training hill, but without a higher top of lift it's gonna' be a serious pucker factor going over the back. (revised)...

Saturday 9/11 Flying?
ADDS and NWS are indicating light East for Saturday. Could be an incredibly stellar Miller Day. (and Chaz says he could be talked into coming out and driving)
Any interest in commemorating 9/11 from 13,000 msl?

Where Was I?
Glad you had some fun airtime.
Where was I?
I was spending quality time with my wife and daughter.
Where was everyone on Sunday, when I had time off to fly?!?
I'm ready to fly this coming Saturday. Any takers?

'A' Mountain Flyable?
Eric and Gunter (who I know is in Tuscany for the next two weeks).
Looks like Tuesday and Wednesday will be good for flying the 'A'. The insurance is in and paid for. Have we met our other obligations? Do we have a list and a pack of signed waivers into the city?

Sun, Sept 5th Airtime?
OK. I've got this Sunday free- and need to venture for some airtime. 1st choice is HG at Miller in the morning, but PG is viable, depending on weather. Any other interested pilots out there?

for someone wanting to fly PG from Phx? I would say that it's generally much easier to fly your PG from Phoenix to Tucson, than to fly it to Flagstaff. Launch South mountain on a day when the winds aloft are from the NW, and you'll be able to fly to Tucson. The only person I know who has done it (i...

Short Report
An outstanding looking day. We arrived at the SE launch with it blowing in perfectly 8-10mph at 11am, although no thermal activity yet. By the time we were set up, the breeze had waned, and it was cross from the NE, with the mountain in a big cloud shadow. A peak of sun generated a bit of thermal bl...

Horses and Gravel Pits
Jerry- Where did you land? What river? Was one of the ladies named Godiva? She would have been the naked chick. Gravel Pits are a PG hike up site, on the east side of the north end of the Mustang mountains, just across the highway from the south end Whetsones. Works for any direction with East in it...

New Hours for A Mtn
This may slightly restric how early we can fly (like on New Year's day) and how late we can fly (or retrieve vehicles after a sunset flight). Although 8pm through the winter daylight hours is still pretty late. Thought you should all be aware: New Hours at Sentinel Peak Park ("A" MOUNTAIN) Start Sep...

nice offer
Thanks Eric. That's nice of you to offer. It's been six months since I've flown the HG (Whetstones in Feb). However, I think I still feel pretty comfortable about launching and landing the Xtralite. I'll fly conservatively (as always), and hope for a bit of a headwind on landing. Although if you hap...

Saturday Aug 28th flying
Looks like I've got a hall pass from my wife and baby for Saturday! No idea yet what the weather's gonna' be like, but I'm thinking I might wanna' fly the HG this weekend. Specially if there's OD potential.

Re: ID Cards
Howdy fellas, Would it be possible for someone like me to obtain the necessary paperwork to fly the A? I'm just thinking that if the opportunity presents itself it would be nice to be able to do it. Any chance of reciprocity on the club memberships? jd Jerry, Start by sending in a signed waiver to ...
